Music & Movement: This class is a parent and tot class for ages 18-35 months. Children are introduced to basic stretching, marching and skipping. They will sing songs and add actions. They will shake instruments and dance along to music!
Ballet: Ballet is the basis of dance. It is a technical form of dance with its very own French vocabulary. Ballet dance is typically performed to classical music. Ballet is a classical dance form characterized by grace and precision of movement. At Broadway Bound, students study under the Royal Academy of Dance (R.A.D) syllabus. Exam and pointe classes are offered to students once they are ready. Ballet classes are offered to students 3 years and older.
Tap: Tap dancers wear special shoes equipped with metal taps. Dancers use their feet to create rhythmic patterns and timely beats and gain a sense of coordination. Tap classes are offered to students 5 years and older.
Jazz: Jazz classes explore contemporary and classic jazz dance that draws inspiration from a wide range of music including jazz, swing, blues, pop, soul and funk. This type of dancing is energetic and fun, consisting of unique moves, leaps and turns. Jazz classes are offered to students 3 years and older.
Hip hop: Hip hop dance refers to street dance styles primarily performed to hip-hop music. Hip Hop dance is a broad category that includes a variety of urban styles. Hip Hop also includes an element of free style. Hip Hop classes are offered to students ages 6 years and older.
Acro: This style of dance combines dance technique with precision acrobatic elements. Much focus is on the core by working on strength and flexibility. Acro classes are offered to students 6 years and older.
Tumbling: This class focuses on tumbling technique only. Tricks such as somersaults, handsprings, aerials, roundoffs, dive rolls and more are performed. Conditioning and strength training are also included to ensure safety and proper technique. Students must be 6 years old to enroll in our tumbling class.
Contemporary: Contemporary dance is a style of dance which is developed from the combination or variation of multiple dance styles such as ballet, modern, acro, jazz, lyrical and more. Contemporary dance gives the dancer freedom to express and interpret emotion, song and themes using interpretive and organic movement. Contemporary is offered to students 10 years old and older.
Lyrical: Lyrical dance is a style of dance that has a base in ballet. Lyrical is a very passionate and emotional style that portrays a range of emotions using expressive movement to tell a story. The goal of lyrical dance is for the dancers to deeply connect to the telling movement of the dance, so the movement, the song and the story being told are all one. Lyrical is offered to students 10 years old and older.
